From our humble beginnings in 1991 with just six local government property
employees who met together in Palmerston North to exchange ideas and work
experience to now our several hundred strong community we are truly about
community. We hold regional meetings in cities around New Zealand and have
an annual conference in a great location, the perfect place for networking.

About LAPA
The Local Authority Property Association is a specialist area of property management and property consultancy. A relatively small number of operators in this niche industry collectively manage the country’s largest and highest-valued property portfolios, dealing with property risks that have some of the most major and widest-felt impacts. Yet the specialist skills needed to properly implement roles in this sector are only briefly taught in tertiary courses and not heavily supported by professional associations, due to the relatively small number of workers in this area. LAPA exists to meet these needs.
